Maori facts about EEl'S

  1. Tongan species are important to Maori culture because eels are food for Maori people to eat. What Maori people do to the eel is that cut the guts out of the eel then the cook the eel and eat it.

2. Eels usually spend their lives in the ocean and in fresh water. The reason why the eels spend their lives in fresh water is because so that they can breath and thy can swim through, and the the reason why they live in the ocean is because the ocean is their home.

3. Maori people are relieved on eels for generations.

4. Eels can swim near Tonga and what they do is spawn then die to death.

5. Before the eels go out into the ocean they go to little rivers and what they see is glass eels. The reason why they see glassed eels is because that's where glass eels live, in rivers.

6. Eels can live for 60 years then after that they die then reborn.

7. Eels can get rolled up like a Maori stone.

8. Eels have a very complex lifestyle they live in sea water and fresh water.

9. Eels can release 1-20 eegs a day.
