This week me and my maths group have been working on how to solve a problem. The problem I was trying to solve was person who had to mow 1/4 of 92 people's houses.
The problem was, that a person had to mow 92 houses down the street. 1/4 of them have asked him to mow their lawn . He had to pay his mum 2.50 for the lawn mower per hour. A tank of petrol would cost him 12$. The petrol only last for 6 hours. While he mows people's lawn he gets paid 15$ per hour. The question is, that if he gets paid 15$ per hour how much profit will he make. The answer was 23 because half 92=46 then half 46 equals 23. So the guy gets paid 23$.
Conclusion:
I have learned that half of 92 = 46 and half of 46 equals 23 that is how the kid got 23$.
I am a student at in Uru MÄnuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Hi Aisa, I like the way you have described how to find a quarter of 92 by dividing it in half and then in half again. I wonder what you would get if you divide a number by 3 and then 3 again? When you divided 92 into quarters and found the answer of 23, this meant that you need to mow 23 lawns (not earn $23, that is another part of the problem). Great work Aisa.
