Shark finning

Shark fining is the act of removing fins from sharks and dumping the rest of the body back into the ocean. When the bodies are discarded into the ocean, the sharks are often still alive but without their fins. 

Shark fins are tempting targets for fishermen because they have a high monetary and culture value. These fins are also important to some people because They are used in a popular dish called shark fin soup, which is a symbol of status in Chinese culture. 

Sharks are important to our ocean and environment because they play an important role in the ecosystem by maintaining the species below them in the food chain and taking care of the oceans health.
