Hurumanu three -

Today in Hurumanu 3, we got to carry on watching this movie called 'The Impossible' and after we had completed watching the movie, we were given a choice to pick a topic we wanted to research about. I chose to research about which country/city/suburb has had the tallest tsunami , and the answer to the question was Alaska. Alaska was the state that had the tallest tsunami, which was 500 meters high.

Here are some of the top tallest tsunamis:

Alaska

500 meters

Empire state building

450 meters

Sky Tower

328 meters

Eiffel Tower

324 meters

Pyramid of Giza

139 meters

What I enjoyed about this Hurumanu -
What I enjoyed, was researching about which state had the tallest tsunami, and finding out how many meters of the height of the tsunami was. Also I enjoyed looking at some images and learning about the tsunami was formed.

The marketing mix - Promotion

This Wednesday we had a Market day, and today I will be sharing with you our Marketing Promotion. I will be sharing with you our example of our promotional material we used/created for Market day, also I will be sharing our main characteristics of our product's target market. Fourthly, I will be sharing what our product's promotion strategy.

After we completed making our products and planning all our idea's, we started to create our own poster to place in front of our product/game. On our poster, we wrote down the price of our game, and  wrote things that advertise people to come play our game. We designed these posters, with strategies to draw in the viewers attention.

For our product, we tried to target staff members and teachers to come and try out our product/game, so that we can share and improve to them our learning. Also we wanted to share to them our creative thinking, and skills we have used to create this product.

Our posters strategy was to advertise people, to catch their attention, so that they would want try out our game/product and then more and more people will come to play our game/product.

Business & Enterprise Kete

For the past three weeks we have been involved in the Business and Enterprise Kete.

Yesterday in Market day, my role was to be the Finance Manager, and I had to look after the money and I was responsible for the budget planning, and also I had to support the controlling management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the company.

My company is called Ring Toss and We named the game this name because it suits better with the game/product.

Our product/game is called Ring Toss, and the aim of this game is to land at least two rings on any of the bottles that are set in front. You are given six turns, and if you land at least two out of the six throws, you claim a prize that is in the prize box.

Our product went good because, a lot of people came and tried out our game. Also what went good was that we made quite a few money/profit.

The marketing mix - Location

Where we will be producing our product:

We will be producing our product in the centre of the school, so that more people see our product and want to play it. The reason why we are going to produce our product in the middle of the market location, is because a big amount of people walk around this area and they will see our product.

Where a good space is for our market day - ( inside/Outside/middle of the room)

A perfect location for our product is outside, because our product is a game, and our game includes throwing equipment's at other equipment's.. Also its a good space to use so that no one gets hurt, or hit from the equipment that is used in the game, and also this a safe space to use for our game.

Competition - On market day there will be another group that will also be doing the exact same game/product as our group. Out of the both groups, I think that my group has more better ideas than the others, and also the quality of our game will be better than the other group. I think that because the other groups game is only wining the game, but our group is wining prizes, and also in our game you can win more than 1 prize. Secondly I think that our groups idea/plan is better and stronger because not only that people are wining prizes but is worth playing.

The marketing mix - Price

Our product is called ring toss, and the aim of this game is to throw/land the ring on to the bottles. On each of the bottles, there are prizes written on them, and what ever prize bottle your ring lands on, is the prize you win. This product is used for wining prizes, easily and simply.

How we worked out what price we were going to sell:
How we worked out what price we were going to sell, was that we looked at how much the prizes costed, and we made that the cost of the game.

Why our game/product is worth paying to do:
Our game/product is worth paying because it is not as expensive as other businesses products, also, our game/product is very easy to win the prizes.

In our game, you are either 10 or 15 metres away from the bottles, and also you are given a choice to toss the ring from 10 metres , or 15 metres. If you choose to throw from 10 metres, and it lands on a bottle, you win whatever prize that is written on it, but if you pick to throw from 15 metres, and it lands on a bottle, you still win whatever prize that is written on the bottle, but you also win the bonus prize for throwing the ring further from where then normal distance is. The bonus prize is a lollie jar, filled with lollies.

Instrument Evaluation

For this term I have been studying about Guitar, Piano, and Ukulele. For Guitar, I learned how to change notes and strum, also the same as for Ukulele. Secondly, I have learned how to play the piano with my right hand, which is the hand I'm not use to playing or writing with.

I have enjoyed playing the Ukulele because, it is one of my favourite instrument, also, I enjoyed it because to me, its challenging.

Out of all the instruments I have learned how to play, is the most challenging one, is playing the piano, because I am not very good at playing it, also its challenging because I had to learn how to play it with my right hand.

For the rest of the term, I want to focus on learning more how to play the Guitar, because I like playing Guitars, and I would like to achieve how to play one whole single song with this instrument.

Scince - Experiment

 What we are doing today:

Today in chemical and chaos, I will be learning about particle Theory and diffusion, and we are also going to investigate the effect of diffusion.

What we are doing for the experiment:

We have to get two dishes, in one dish we have to spill cold water into the dish, well in the other dish, we need to pour in warm water. After we complete the first task, one person from each group gets the two dishes. Secondly, after we have claimed the two dishes, with the warm and cold water in them, we pour in the Potassium Permanganate into both dishes to see which one of the dishes will defuse faster and cold.

Conclusion:

Today we did a experiment over two dishes with warm and cold water, and we had to see, which warm or cold water, using Potassium Permanganate, defuses faster. Today I have learned that, pouring Potassium Permanganate into warm water, defuses faster than cold water.
